Have you ever wondered (like I have) how iconic bands that were formed in the 1960’s got their names? Here’s an explanation for some of them. Some bands formed with names of their founders and need no explanation. But, others had unusual and psychedelic names typical of the times and original in the creation. Like – “Three Dog Night” or “The Velvet Underground”.
The 1960’s was a goldmine of new and seemingly Avant Garde music with the cementing of rock ‘n roll and mainstreaming Blues. We continue to listen to the music today and appreciate it for what it was and what it contributed to our Culture.
